On the 1st of October, as the Chinese government goes all out to celebrate its founding, we’ll be taking to the streets for socially distanced protests in over 50 cities to fight for the rights of the Tibetan people. We also have some exciting plans that we’re keeping under wraps for now, but we can’t wait to show you soon.
China will spend a fortune on these anniversary celebrations to promote an image of happiness and success, which they know is critical for them to keep the support, or silence, of the international community. By pushing back and shouting loudly (sometimes literally!) the Tibetan people, we can remind our political leaders about the violent oppression and human rights abuses that the Chinese government would rather cover up.
We’re really excited about what we’ve got planned for 1st October, but we need your support to make it happen. Around the world Tibet activists are designing campaign toolkits, organising advocacy meetings, printing banners and planning direct action activities. Can you make a small donation to help support this important work?
