Shokjang, an innocent Tibetan writer and intellectual, was sentenced to three years in prison on 17 February 2016. Tibetans are at a high risk of torture in China’s prisons.
Call on the China to withdraw the charges against Shokjang and release him immediately

I urge you to:
- Release Shokjang immediately and unconditionally as he has been detained solely for peacefully exercising his rights;
- Respect the fundamental right to freedom of expression, including with respect to those who peacefully express criticism of the government or views that are contrary to the state policies.
- Ensure Shokjang receives any specialized medical care he may require, has regular access to a lawyer of his choice, and is allowed access to his family;
