G7: Protéger les enfants du Tibet

The Chinese Communist Party has a terrifying plan for the children of Tibet: nearly a million Tibetans aged 4 to 18 are being forced to live in colonial boarding schools – cut off from their homes, families, language and way of life. At the same time, Tibetan-language schools are being closed and demolished.

The Chinese regime's plan is to reshape Tibetan society and identity with devastating effects.

In the words of Dr Gyal Lo, a renowned expert on these schools: “The Chinese government is tearing families apart and forcing these vulnerable children to become alienated from their own Tibetan culture.

G7 ministers are due to meet in Canada in March. We must put these boarding schools on their agenda and urge them to demand that China close them.
